Since 1999, Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) and Y-Haven have collaborated to create an original theater production performed by residents of Y-Haven, based on their personal experiences. The play exemplifies the transformational power of the arts and helps participants develop skills and capacities that support their sobriety and transition to employment, permanent housing and independent living. All ticket proceeds benefit Y-Haven.
On the evening of January 28, several Y-Haven residents – none of whom with theatrical experience but well trained by CPT staff – will take to the stage and give a personal and moving look into the life-long journey they take to sobriety, emphasizing the difficult path from which an individual can easily stray. The performance gives the residents a new sense of what they can accomplish individually and collectively.
The audience left with a deeper understanding of addiction and the fantastic work done at Y-Haven. The play is being performed for free at various locations in our area to help people of all ages and backgrounds better understand addiction and treatment. Save the date for this night you'll never forget. We'll share ticket information soon.
