Your Y membership is saving lives and enhancing your community every day.
The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is a nonprofit organization serving its community and has been for more than 165 years. As a member of our Y, you are changing lives every day. While our branches conduct community benefit events and activities throughout the year, we also have year-round programs that are providing services to individuals struggling with homelessness and addiction and those leaving prison trying to rebuild their lives. Your membership dollars help support these four programs–Y-Haven, Open Door, Rising Hope and Careers Workforce Development. Learn more about them below.
Y-Haven
Y-Haven provides temporary housing and drug and alcohol treatment to those struggling with homelessness and addiction. The center offers an array of services to help participants recover from addiction, find good work and secure permanent housing.
Rising Hope
Rising Hope Recovery Housing provides sober housing, drug treatment, and array of support services to 80 men and women seeking to recover from opioid dependency.
Open Door
The Open Door Re-Entry Program provides supportive, transitional housing to women and men exiting the criminal justice system with no safe place to go.
Careers Workforce Development
Through its new Careers Workforce Development program, Y-Haven marshals the many vocational resources in Cuyahoga County to improve the employment outcomes of the high barrier individuals it serves. The Careers program also serves those who have exited Y-Haven helping them obtain and sustain gainful employment.
