The YMCA of Greater Cleveland has been selected as a provider under the Ohio ACE program. This program provides funds for students and families to use on various enrichment and educational activities such as day camps, before-and-after-school programs and field trips. The program is designed to help students catch up on learning lost during the pandemic and to provide them with opportunities to explore their interests and develop new skills.
To be eligible for the program, students must reside in a household with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) at or below 400% of the federal poverty level based on the household's most recent federal income tax return. Children who are part of a family that participates in programs such as Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Ohio Works First (OWF) or other government social programs with eligibility at or below 400% of the federal poverty level also qualify for the program.
Families can apply for the program through the Ohio Department of Education. Once approved, families will receive a $1,000 educational savings account that they can use to pay for qualified enrichment and educational activities.
Qualifying YMCA of Greater Cleveland programs include:
- Before-and-after-school care (Y-Club)
- Pre-school
- Day camps, including sports and fine arts camps
