Three Arches Foundation logo

The Three Arches Foundation name pays homage to its long-standing roots and embodies the historical significance with the three arched doors that were once the entrance into Lakewood Hospital’s healing community, and is further complemented with a new logo symbolizing unity as the arches architecturally convert to a single strength with reflective light guiding the way.

Donor Spotlight: Three Arches Foundation

Three Arches Foundation (TAF) is a community-focused grant making foundation that connects people, ideas and resources to advance the health and well-being of people in Lakewood and surrounding communities previously served by the former Lakewood Hospital. Built on a legacy of philanthropy, TAF fulfills its mission by awarding grants to nonprofits aligned with its priority area of focus on access to care.  Since 2018, TAF has invested nearly $5.8 million across 37 organizations in support of programs and services that make it easier for people to navigate, understand, and use information and services to take care of their behavioral and physical health.

The Lakewood Family YMCA has established a positive and mutually supportive relationship with TAF over the past 18 months.  Approximately one year ago, TAF provided the YMCA a $42,000 grant to support virtual/at-home balance and blood pressure education to homebound seniors in the Lakewood community.  Last month, TAF’s board of directors approved another $42,000 grant to the YMCA – in support of a two year pilot program to expand the YMCA’s We Run This City marathon training program to Lakewood.  A total of $2 million in grants were awarded by TAF’s board of directors to 21 nonprofits at its November meeting.

“Three Arches Foundation is pleased to support the YMCA’s “Steady and Stable” and “We Run This City - Lakewood” programs. Both reflect our mutual commitment to community outreach efforts that remove barriers and make it easier for people to improve their health and well-being,” shared Kristin Broadbent, president and CEO of the Foundation. “Accentuating health promotion and disease prevention strategies that create connections and encourage empowerment, these programs offer unique opportunities for people of all ages - young and old - to thrive physically, emotionally and spiritually.”

The YMCA continues to work to attract, sustain and nurture relationships with our corporate, civic and philanthropic funding communities.  Should you wish to discuss partnership with the YMCA as an individual or group, please contact Beth Darmstadter, Chief Philanthropy Officer at bdarmstadter@clevelandymca.org or at 440-759-7442.  You can make an online donation to support the YMCA at: clevelandymca.org/give
