The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is honored to have been awarded a two-year grant from the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in support of our Y-Leaders and Youth & Government programs. The grant provides $290,000 in both 2026 and 2027, totaling $580,000, and represents a significant investment in youth leadership, civic engagement and positive development.

This year, the YMCA is marking a remarkable milestone: 175 years of service in the United States. Since the first U.S. YMCA opened its doors in 1851, the Y has been a constant presence in communities across the country, adapting to changing times while staying rooted in its mission to strengthen spirit, mind and body.

One of the greatest strengths of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland is the incredible variety of programs available to our members. From early childhood through older adulthood, and for every ability level, the Y offers opportunities to learn, grow, stay active and connect with others.
