Vermilion YMCA Summer Camp

When: June 10, 2013-August 21, 2013

Hours: Monday through Friday 6 am - 6 pm

Ages: Completed Kindergarten-Age 12

Cost:  $130 per week (full-time 4-5 days)   $95 per week (part-time 1-3 days)

Note: Registrations will not be accepted prior to the designates dates listed above for each group.

 

Register your child for camp by April 26, 2013 and take advantage of our camp deposit payment plan (all deposits on this plan must be paid in full by May 24, 2013) Contact the Payment Registrar Office for payment plan options at 216-263-6860 or childcarereg@clevelandy.org.

REGISTRATION FEES

A $25 per week/per child non-refundable deposit is required in advance for each week your child will be attending. This deposit will be deducted from your weekly program fee noted above. Deposits will be deducted from you account when registration is processed. An annual membership fee of $25 per family is required for those not currently a YMCA member or YMCA program member.

Become a full facility member when registering for summer day camp and pay a zero joiner fee - a $100 savings.

WHAT WE OFFER

FIELD TRIPS:  Monday and Wednesday

SWIMMING:  Friday

MEALS: Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack provided

FUN WEEKLY THEMES:

Week 1:  SCOUTS, EXPLORERS, & RANGERS, OH MY: Campers will become acquainted with what YMCA camp is all about! Your child will engage in fun-filled getting to know you activities with other children their age.

Week 2:  LET'S EAT: Your child will learn about where food comes from, make fun and delicious recipes, “meet” famous chefs, discuss favorite foods, and learn about nutrition

Week 3:  2013 YMCA GAMES: YMCA Olympics-themed week with an opening ceremony full of spirit, physical activities and games, and an awards celebration.

Week 4:  IMAGINATION CELEBRATION: Celebrating creativity and imagination! Your child will be drawing, making, inventing, and using their imagination to create new things.

Week 5:  CAMP CHAMPS: Campers will head out to the “campsite” for marshmallows, tent pitching, campfire stories, star gazing, lightning bugs, and hiking!

Week 6:  ROCK AND SOUL: Join us on a journey through music by learning about famous musicians and different music genres, while creating and playing instruments.

Week 7:  BLIZZARD BONANZA: Brrrrr!!! Bring your winter gear- we’ll explore snow, icebergs, snow cones, ice cream, popsicles, penguins, polar bears, and snowmen.

Week 9:  MYSTERIES AND INVESTIGATIONS: Campers will work together on scavenger hunts, solving mysteries, creating treasure maps, and learning about detective work and fingerprinting.

Week 10:  ROAD TRIP ACROSS AMERICA: Travel across America to learn about fun places to visit- the Golden Gate Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, and more.

WHAT TO BRING

Children should wear comfortable shorts, YMCA camp t-shirts, socks and tennis shoes. For safety purposes, please do not send your child in shoes that slide off of their feet. 

Children should come with a water bottle, swim suit, towel and sunscreen each day. All items should be labeled with the child’s first and last name and placed in a sturdy bag or back pack. 

Please, no toys from home, cell phones or money. The YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
